Purdue Cal Celebrates World Water Day

national-water-dayOn March 22, 2013 Purdue University Calumet will be celebrating World Water Day. At 9:30am in the Student Union Library at the university in Hammond, IN is where the event will take place.

World Water Day began being observed on 22 March since 1993 when the United Nations General Assembly declared that day as as World Water Day.

This day was first proposed in Agenda 21 of the 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The popularity of the day has grown significantly ever since; for the general public get involved, people are encouraged to not use their taps throughout the whole day.
