3rd Annual Black Cat Strut 5K Run/Fun Walk, 1 Mile Dog Walk

ICS-LogoThe Independent Cat Society, a non-profit organization, that provides a safe haven for strays, homeless and abandoned cats and kittens proudly announces our biggest event ever on April 28, Sunday: THE BLACK CAT STRUT 5K RUN/FUN WALK to be held a Sunset Hill County Park on 755 Meridan Road in Valparaiso, Indiana. This event will be draw over 200 runners/walkers and dog walkers. Runners start time is at 9am sharp, fun walk starts at 9:05am and dog walk at 9:30am. Remember all dogs must be on leash at all times, up to date on vaccines and friendly.

There will be" amazing goodie bags" for all of those participating in the race/walk. Preregistration will close this Friday the 12th. After Friday the cost will increase to $15.00 for dog walkers and $20.00 for runners/walkers. You may still register on-line at https://register.thtiming.com/register/?event=18192. More information is also available on our website, www.catsociety.org. We do accept race day registration between 7:30-8:30am.

This event will host a variety of shelter/rescues from PCAS, LCAC, Animal Rescue Squad, Pit Crew II, American Greyhound, All Breed, 2x2, Second Chance, Pawshere, Giant Paw, Finally Home Bulldog and Hearts and Hounds. There will be face painting, a kissing booth, Rusty the Railcat and Rascal. Annie Fox with her sidekick Jager from Indiana 105FM will be there too.

For those who are not participating in the run/walk, many vendors with home baked goods for you and for your pets, craft booths and raffles to benefit the Independent Cat Shelter will be available to purchase and/or bid on. Our great vendors that are participating; Oams Pet Products, Nina G Photography, Sentsy, LaSophia, Tastfully Simple, Adorable Baskets, Miche, Creative Framing, Jens Lockets, Bonnies Bows, Black Pearl Bakery Hot Spot Coffee and don't forget "free nail clippings" by Smoochie Pooch.

Come out and spend the day with family and friends! This will be one of the biggest events to come out and meet shelters and rescues and help support them thru your genereousity and meet the wonderful volunteers of Porter County. We can't do it without your continued support.
