Sensible Fashion on Display in 2013 Little Black Dress Fashion Show

2013-bargain-barn-fashion-1On Thursday, May 2, 2013, the Chicago Street Theatre was hopping with groups of semi-formally dressed people moving about the lobby like a tide fashion. This year Chicago Street Theatre and The Bargain Barn, along with Engstrom Jewlers and the Terry Abner Salon, have once again teamed up to host the Little Black Dress Fashion Show.

The evening's night fashion show is titled, "Look for Less", with the goal to demonstrate that one does not need to spend a fortune in order to look chic or stay on trend. The night could not have succeeded in fulfilling this goal any more than it did.

2013-bargain-barn-fashion-2Tevlyn Schwerd has been the brain child behind this event with the Chicago Street Theatre since its creation last year; she is also the co-owner of the Bargain Barn located on Calumet Avenue. The Bargain Barn is a family owned business, and this being the second year of the Little Black Dress event, the store could not be any more excited.

This year Tevlyn says that her store hopes to keep their spot in our rankings, and from what was seen at the show they definitely should. Mixing many different styles, the show was an enjoyable bout of stylish fun the entire night through. Tevlyn she said she, "hoped to bring a new twist to fashion show. 2013-bargain-barn-fashion-3Tonight, everyone gets the chance to feel like a supermodel."

Those who were in the show looked like supermodels with excellent and unique styling, as well as wonderful hair provided by the Terry Abner Salon. The night went on wonderfully with a well-done, enjoyable fashion show, closing with a "Project Runway" style ending, where designers had to gather clothing from the theatre's wardrobe and create a Picasso themed outfit in honour of CTG's upcoming show, "A Picasso".

All in all I sincerely hope that this event does continue to prosper though the years to bring enjoyment, entertainment, art, and the inner fasionista or fashionisto in to us all.
