porter-county-museumThe Porter County Museum and the Ogden Dunes Historical Society are joining forces to celebrate Porter County’s past this Memorial Day, Monday, May 26!

Visit the Hour Glass Museum in Ogden Dunes from 12-3:30p for a preview of the upcoming exhibit: The Ogden Dunes Stories Project. For the past year, Americorps member Ian Roseen has been collecting oral histories from the community of Ogden Dunes. Stop by the Hour Glass Museum to see how the exhibit is coming together, and chat with members of the Historical Society of Ogden Dunes and the PoCo Muse exhibit team about the history of this unique community.

At the same time, you can pick up a copy of Images of America: Ogden Dunes, a new book written by Dick Meister and Ken Martin of the Historical Society of Ogden Dunes! The Hour Glass Museum is located at 7 Lupine Lane in Ogden Dunes. Visit odhistory.org to learn more!

The David D. Porter Camp of the Sons of the Union Veterans will conduct a ceremony on the front lawn of the Porter County Museum in Valparaiso to commemorate veterans from all wars on Monday, May 26 at 10:30a. Afterwards, spend some time in the exhibits, share your own stories, and explain what you might find personal and compelling in renovated Civil War and WWII exhibits. The Museum, located at 153 S. Franklin St., will be open from 9a-12p. Visit pocomuse.org to learn more!
