Ramencon Anime Convention Returns to Radisson Hotel on September 19

2014-Ramencon-logoThe Ramencon anime convention is returning to Radisson Hotel Star Plaza in Merrillville Sept. 19 through Sept. 21. The three-day convention offers attendees numerous activities, panels and special guests.

According to Chris Kaemerer, con-chair, the convention attracted approximately 1500 attendees from Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, New York and California in 2013. This year, convention planners are hoping to attract more than 2,000 attendees.

Special events during Ramencon include autograph sessions with Todd Haberkorn and J. Michael Tatum, voice actors; panels; anime and movie screenings; a costume contest; music entertainment by The Brehms, DJ Kagamine and FroKnight; games; and more.

In addition to the special events, attendees can explore a variety of vendors offering anime merchandise, DVDs, manga (comic book version of anime), and more; and artists who specialize in a variety of styles.

Individuals interested in attending Ramencon may register at the door. Single day registration for Friday or Saturday costs $35, single day Sunday registration costs $25, and registration for the entire weekend costs $40.
