Oak Partners Hosts Sweet Event for Clients, Just in Time for Valentine’s Day

A special event was held at the Crown Point location of Oak Partners Inc. for clients to celebrate Valentine’s Day in style. The theme for this event was “Chocolate and Champagne”, and what fits this holiday more perfectly than some sweets and bubbly?

It was cold outside, very cold in fact, but the atmosphere was warm and pleasant as the staff of Oak Partners, their clients, and other guests mingled and chatted. Events like this are pretty common for Oak Partners. The company feels that it is vital to take care of the relationships that they have with their clients.

“These recreational events are important because we can get to know our clients better,” Crystal DeHaven, Director of Client Experience and Marketing said. “We welcome clients to bring a guest, too, so they can learn about us in a fun and relaxed setting. Besides, who doesn’t love chocolate and champagne?”

Who indeed? All in attendance were separated into groups and sent to one of four champagne stations. Once there, they were able to sample different types of champagne and sparkling wines (courtesy of Wise Guys Liquors) and pair it with delicious chocolates from Albanese Candy Factory. The staff of Oak Partners happily doled out the drinks and chocolate, and kept the guests entertained with Valentine's Day trivia and a bit of history on the drinks at each station. After a turn each group moved on to another station, eventually completing the circuit and probably the best tasting educational experience they ever had.

Steve Kavois has been with Oak Partners for 10 years and recently became a partner. He along with the rest of the staff enjoyed themselves at the event.

"This is the difference between us and other firms out there," Kavois said. "We take the time to not only educate our clients but to entertain them and spend time with them and develop relationships with them. They are more comfortable with us and therefore not afraid to ask us a question and let us know if they are happy or not."

Kavois said that about 80% of their clients come from referrals. And with the number of smiling faces at Oak Partners that night, clients and guests alike, it isn't any wonder why someone would refer a friend to them.

Michael Hadt, another new partner at Oak Partners stated, "This really exemplifies what our firm is about. We built it first and foremost on relationships. This event is designed to help us get to know our clients in a better way than in an office across a desk. We do that often with our clients, but here we don't worry about numbers or anything like that, we just want to get to know our clients. And that helps direct us to how we can best invest their money for them... We can start to call our clients friends."
