Brides-to-Be Create a Buzz for Blue Chip Casino’s Bride Blu

When it comes to making decisions to create the perfect wedding, sometimes a bride needs to experience all of her options. Within the region, there are a lot of options to choose from, and Blue Chip Casino brought all of the options together under one roof on Sunday afternoon. The Blue Chip Casino and WeddingDay Magazine hosted Bridal Blu 2015, “the area’s largest bridal extravaganza” at the Stardust Event Center, bringing together over 40 of the regions best in photography, DJ’s, catering services, gowns, and venues.

“This is our sixth year for the Bridal Expo and we’re excited to bring it back. We have dozens of vendors here from the Northwest Indiana region and also a few from the Southwestern Michigan area. We had around 700 brides pre-registered before today but I’m expecting the numbers to jump up and make this our biggest Bride Blu event yet,” Angela Gaghan, Director of Sales and Catering for Blue Chip explained. “They’ve brought a lot of energy to this event and they’re ready to get out there and experience this event with their loved ones and family members.”

The high energy was palpable from the very start. Once the clock hit the time for the event to begin, there was already a long line of women and men waiting to get in and experience all the Bride Blu had to offer. And there was a lot. The Stardust Center was filled with flashing lights, sparkling booths, and free giveaways of food, photos and more. There were lines that stretched from each side of the room of people stopping to look at every single company that attended. Amy Stanley, who runs Snapshots By Amy in Portage, had one of those filled booths, and said that craziness was more than welcome.

“I’m specialized in weddings and this event is an amazing way to get my services out there. It’s been awesome and really, really busy today but it’s a great way to kickstart the 2015 season - and possibly the 2016 season as well.”

Judy Littrell, who has her own tailoring business Tailored for You Alterations, had similar thoughts about the event. “I’m here to meet all of the beautiful brides and help them get their dress to fit like a glove. This is my first venture alone after working for as a tailor for 23 years and this has been a great way to get the word out. We’ve been having them line up to talk to us and it’s been awesome to see everyone being so happy.”

Not only was there a whole show room full of companies and their giveaways, there were also free tours of Blue Chip’s amenities, a fashion show of Paris House of Bridal gowns and bridesmaid dress, complimentary food and drinks, and plenty of opportunities to get their hair and makeup done.

Nevertheless it was easy to say that the buzz of excitement was coming directly from the brides-to-be themselves. Women from all over the area made sure that Bride Blu was their stop for the weekend. Kayla Cugeck, who traveled from Niles, Michigan with some of her friends and family to attend Bride Blu, explained that the event was a great way to get some ideas for her October 2016 wedding.

“I’m getting married soon and so is my best friend! This will be my second bridal show that I’ve been to so far and we’ve gotten a lot of good information from this one.” Cugeck said. “It’s been a lot of fun so far. There’s been a ton of great stuff to see around here.”

Once the Bride Blu attendees gathered up all that the event had to offer, it was obvious that everyone who made the trip to Blue Chip had a wonderful time gathering up ideas about how to create their perfect wedding day. Next year, another Bride Blu event will call the region’s most interested brides, but for 2015 it was surely guaranteed that they did host the region’s best “bridal extravaganza”.
