Planning an Event? Look No Further Than the Blue Chip Casino

The 4th annual Good Life Awards took place recently, and each year it’s quite an undertaking. We put a lot of time into planning and since it gets bigger and bigger each year we have to plan more and more. We don’t mind, of course, celebrating the good things that can be found all over the region is what we do. And we know how to throw a party. This year, we’ve partnered with the Blue Chip Casino, Hotel and Spa. And they too know how to throw a party very, very well.

We began planning the August event in June, and the event staff at the Blue Chip was very receptive to our needs, and vision. They let us use our own decoration to show our branding and were open to our idea of the layout for the party. They were quick to respond to our questions and concerns, and as always were very friendly and professional.

“I would recommend the Blue Chip for anyone's event,” Lady Lifer Jenny Craig said. “I had such an amazing experience with the event team! They worked with me to get everything I needed, within my budget (actually under budget), with as little effort from me as possible. They have a spot for your event, big or small and will make certain you are happy.”

Angela Gaghan - Director of Sales and Catering at Blue Chip Casino, Colleen Lane – Catering Sales Manager, and the rest of the team at Blue Chip are helping to make things happen for us, and they can help make your events happen, too!

“We do know what we’re doing,” Gaghan said. “We can make events unique to the individual tastes. People come to us communicating their vision or desires, and we can enhance their ideas without changing them.”

A number of different events take place at the Blue Chip throughout the year whether it’s a corporate affair, a wedding, an anniversary party, a large expo, a charity gala, etc. People come from all over the country to utilize the Blue Chip’s facilities and the Blue Chip hosts their own events as well.

“We’re a 24-entertainment complex and we’ll help anyone with their event whether it’s a small, intimate wedding or a large corporate event. We will be hosting the Association of Indiana Counties Annual Convention this September, the International Massage Festival was just here last month, we’ve had everything from quinceaneras, to charity events including United Way fundraisers, and a lot more. It says a lot when big events want to come back to us.”

And who wouldn’t? Not only is the Blue Chip have great offerings on the inside, there’s great things surrounding it on the outside.

“We have a great location. We’re right by the lake, and we have great restaurants and destinations nearby for those who want to branch out and see what Michigan City has to offer. They can go to the beach, see the Uptown Arts District, and do some shopping. There is a lot going on here and we’re happy that we can help boost tourism.”

The process that Angela and her team go through for planning an event is easy from start to finish.

“First we sit down and talk people through their vision and tie it into what the Blue Chip can do,” she explained. “We draw up hotel agreement that secures the event space, and then we get to planning.”

Food and beverages, serving times, décor, music, and other details are ironed out and nailed down, and a final walkthrough 24-hours before the event is done to make sure any last minute items are covered.

“Our number one goal is to make it easy. Whether you’re planning a birthday party or a four-day convention, we know that on our side there is a lot more than meets the eye. We try to take a lot of work off of our guests’ and outside planners’ shoulders so they can concentrate on what’s important,” Gaghan said. “And after the event is over we follow up to get feedback. We encourage feedback from our guests. We get lots of business from referrals and we’re willing to take anything we can learn from our guests’ experiences to and apply it to make things better in the future.”
