Area 6th-8th graders are invited to “Be a Star” Trivia Night on October 13, 2010. Middle School students from across Northwest Indiana are invited to test their trivia skills and participate in this fun and exciting event. Win great prizes from Zao Island, Valpo Velvet, Edible Arrangements, Schoop's, Valparaiso University Men's Basketball, Dairy Queen, Valpolife, McAfee Animal Hospital and a chance to ride in a limousine! 
“Be a Star” Trivia Night will be held at Benjamin Franklin Middle School (605 Campbell Street, Valparaiso, IN 46385) from 6:00-8:00 p.m. There will be music, popcorn and more! Cost is $5.00 per person. Pizza and drinks are additional. Participants can register on-line at www.discoveriesunlimited.org. Tickets also available at the door. Discoveries Unlimited is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to mentoring middle school girls in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). Its STEM Mentor program pairs Valparaiso middle schools girls with STEM industry professional in one-on-one mentor teams. The goal is to encourage and support our girls' interests in STEM education and careers, fostering lifelong STEM learners. Additionally, by collaborating with the business community, Discoveries Unlimited provides insight to STEM career paths available in Northwest Indiana encouraging our girls to remain in the communities that educate them, build workforce capacity and support economic development.
