2014 Touch-a-Truck
Put your imagination in gear and go! Join us for Touch-a-Truck where children get a chance to get behind the wheel and rub elbows with their hometown heroes. Come and climb on and explore your favorite vehicles including five engines, police cars, monster trucks, construction vehicles and just about anything that moves! We even have helicopters this year!

Nativity 5k
Sunday July 6, 2014 at Nativity Catholic Church in Portage Indiana. Kids 1 mile fun run at 6:30pm and 5K Run/Walk at 7:00pm. Same day registration 5:00-6:30pm. Awards for overall male/female finishers and top overall masters (over 40) male/female.

Porter County Animal Shelter PET-A-PALOOZA
The PET-A-PALOOZA adoption promotion runs from July 5th through July 31st. Twenty five cats and twenty five dogs are featured, and each of the featured animals will have a special PET-A-PALOOZA tag on their cages. Qualified adopters will receive a $20 Pet Supplies Plus gift card, once the adoption is finalized.

Jennie Hamilton Memorial 5 Miler
Sunday July 6 the Jennie Hamilton Memorial 5 Miler will take place in Leroy, IN. This race is part of the 2014 Crazy Legs Race Series and some of the proceeds will benefit the Jennie Hamilton Scholarship Fund.

Four Fathers' Independence Day Weekend Bash
We are so excited to announce our next event with our friends and special guests Burn 'Em Brewing!
We will be tapping The Gadget, our Mango IPA, and The 1776'er, our Imperial American Wheat along with a special limited tapping of our 'collabrewation' with the Burn 'Em guys.

July Sizzles at Blue Chip with Gaming Fun, Entertainment, and Dining Deals
For live music in July, visit It's Vegas Baby! on Fridays and Saturdays and Rocks lounge Friday through Sunday. At It's Vegas Baby!, starting at 10 pm, it's Sugar High Band on Friday, July 4 and The 17th Floor on Saturday, July 5.

2014 Lightning Bug Music Festival
The brainchild of our our friends at the Rolling Stonebaker, the first annual Lightning Bug Music Festival is planned for Sunday, July 6 at Sunset Hill Farm County Park in Valparaiso. Featuring national and local acts including The Wood Brothers, Buckwheat Zydeco, Special Consensus and Chester Brown, the concert is also a benefit, raising funds to provide tuition assistance for deserving kids.

Sidewalk Sales Add to Downtown Activities for the 4th of July Holiday Weekend
Downtown La Porte transforms into the capital of Northwest Indiana for 4th of July activities with the largest parade in the area coordinated by the La Porte Jaycee's. With over 115 parade entries, the downtown area becomes home to thousands of visitors starting on Thursday July 4th and spanning the weekend.

Brickyard Run 5 Miler/5K
The Brickyard Run will now be associated with the "newest" Brickyard in town. Originally, the name Brickyard Run was taken from the original brickyards that operated in town and were an integral part of Hobart's history. Today the "Brickie Bowl" which was home to past "Brickie" football teams, has given way to the "Brickyard", the new home of Hobart football. RACE: The Brickyard 5 Mile Run is the "Gold Cup Series" event.. The Brickyard 5K is NEW this year and is open to all age divisions as well. Awards will be presented for both events. BOTH races will start from the same approximate starting point at the Hobart High School "Brickyard" and end at the same finish line.

Richard Gosswiller Exhibit at the Chesterton Art Center
The Chesterton Art Center will be hosting the exhibit titled, "A Life in Clay: The Ceramics of Richard Gosswiller" starting Sunday, July 6 from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. Richard passed away in 2010, leaving a home full of beautiful ceramics his wife, Marianne, is now sharing with the community.
