Opening Reception for New Exhibits during First Friday at LCA 
November 7, 5-8 p.m. (CST) Lubeznik Center for the Arts will hold an opening reception for its new exhibits Comics & Code and It's Not Just Your Sunday Comic Strip during the First Friday artwalk. Comics & Code will explore the contemporary relationships between words and images through comic illustration, objects and animation. This invited group of artists will feature innovative stories that address the impact on culture through personal, political, social and gender issues.

A Night at the Improv Launches @PCgivingproject 
The @PCgivingproject is hosting a A Night at the Improv on November 7 at Strongbow to help launch its new giving initiative for young leaders and families. The event is open to young adults (ages 25-45) and will feature beer tasting, wine tasting and The Chicago Improv and Underwater Equestrian Team. Tickets are $40/person; doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Come See Interstellar at the Portage 16 IMAX 
The new and highly anticipated movie, Interstellar, comes out on November 6! And we have it playing at the Portage 16 IMAX! Movie Synopsis: With our time on Earth coming to an end, a team of explorers undertakes the most important mission in human history; traveling beyond this galaxy to discover whether mankind has a future among the stars.

Pancake Breakfast to Benefit Homeless Animals 
All-you-can-eat pancakes, a toppings bar and breakfast sides await breakfast lovers at Humane Society Calumet Area (HSCA)’s annual Pancake Breakfast on November 8. Breakfast takes place from 8 a.m. to noon at Munster Social Center.

2014 Fall Antiques & Collectibles Show from the Crossroads Chamber of Commerce 
Looking for a huge selection of antiques? Come out to the Lake County Fairgrounds to explore over 40 antique vendor's items all under one roof. To enhance your shopping experience, you'll discover food vendors and the musical styling of Five Star DJ! Come out to the Lake County Fairgrounds on Saturday from 10am - 4pm or Sunday from 10am - 3pm.

Open the door to an animal's heart by joining us as we present the 11th Annual Michiana Humane Society's Harvest Home Tour, Saturday, November 8, 2014. This self-guided tour takes you through six beautifully appointed and decorated homes in Harbor Country, Michigan.

Join the Discussion of Dunes Art on Saturday, November 8 
Join a diverse group of local artists for a conversation of place, beauty, and community November 8 at 4p at the Lubeznik Center for the Arts in Michigan City. These artists work with a variety of media, and come from different towns and backgrounds but they share something in common, their love for the Indiana Dunes.

Annual Spaghetti Dinner, Wine-Tasting Fundraiser 
The Kibble Kitchen Pet Pantry has announced that pre-sale tickets are now available for their third annual Spay-ghetti dinner to be held on Saturday, Nov. 8. Ticket prices are $15 if purchased in advance, or $18 at the door. There will be a free wine tasting courtesy of Butler Winery, a gourmet bake sale, raffles, silent auctions and more, with all proceeds benefiting the Kibble Kitchen Pet Pantry.

Farm To Table is Almost Here! 
The annual Farm to Table event is coming soon! On November 8 at County Line Orchard, local restaurants, breweries, wineries, and distilleries will gather for one big celebration of what the Midwest has to offer.
