See a Show at the Portage 16 IMAX 
The Holiday Season brings big movie releases to Northwest Indiana each year and this year is no exception at the Portage IMAX! See The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, Night at the Museum 3, Exodus: Gods and Kings, Annie, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1, and other great releases this weekend! "Need a Little Christmas" Program on December 19 at Bethany Lutheran Church 
The LCSO Children's Chorus invites you to let them warm your hearts this Christmas season with their fifth annual "Need a Little Christmas" concert. They'll be ringing those Jingle Bells through the Blizzard while making Angels in the Snow! The children are also excited to have Illumination, a chorus of talented adults directed by Becky Osborn, join them in sharing the joy of Christmas through music. The concert, which is directed by Matthew Nelson, starts at 7:00 p.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church, 102 "G" Street, La Porte. The doors open at 6:30 p.m. Since the concert is FREE, make an early "Jingle Bell Dash" on the Polar Express for great seats as we head to "Toyland" for a "March of the Toys"!

"Annie" at Memorial Opera House 
Based upon the popular Harold Gray comic strip Little Orphan Annie, with music by Charles Strouse, lyrics by Martin Charnin and the book by homas Meehan. Features songs "It's a Hard Knock Life", "Tomorrow", "Little Girls", and "Easy Street".

Cirque du Jazz: A Nutcracker Tale to Offer an Interesting Twist on the Holiday Classic 
Cirque du Jazz: A Nutcracker Tale, with its circus staging, performance surprises, and musical mix of classical Tchaikovsky and Duke Ellington jazz versions of the traditional Nutcracker score, promises to deliver an avant garde twist on the holiday classic. Cirque du Jazz will take place at the Griffith High School Auditorium, 600 N. Wiggs St.. in Griffith, on Friday, December 19, and Saturday, December 20, at 7 p.m., and on Sunday, December 21, at 3 p.m. The performances are presented by South Shore Dance Alliance (SSDA) and the Wirt-Emerson Dance Department.

2014 Hometown Happenings Santa Run 
Santa Clauses in all shapes and sizes will be coming to town on Saturday, December 20th at 9 a.m. as Hometown Happenings hosts their annual Santa Walk & Run starting at St. Mary’s Catholic Community School, 405 E. Joliet St. Registration begins at 8 a.m. SAVE $10 or MORE by signing up online before Noon on Friday, Dec. 19th. Santas running down Main Street! Live music! Photo booth. Test your hockey skills. Visit Santa & MORE!

Santa is Coming to JAK's Warehouse on Friday, December 19th! 
Come visit with Santa on December 19th (6-8pm) and December 20th-23rd (3-6pm). Come see the man in red and share your Christmas wishes with him. Then when your done, have some fun with us! Play some laser tag, ride in the bumper cars, try your luck with our arcades, and more!

City of Gary Announces 2014 Holiday Events 
The City of Gary will be marking the holiday season with opportunities to give to those in need and to shop for goodies from local vendors. “This is the season when we think of others and their needs, and we are excited to have a number of events in the City of Gary that will allow us to do just that,” said Freeman-Wilson. “The partnerships we have forged will once again help us to perform acts of kindness to many of Gary’s youth who are in need.”

Santa Claus is Coming to the Valparaiso Culver's 
Santa Claus will be visiting Culver's of Valparaiso on Saturday December 20, 2014 from 11a - 4p. There will be coloring pages and the kiddies can decorate their own paper ornament. Scoopie will be here too! This may be the final time to get a chance to see Santa and be able to get in those last minute gift requests. Be sure to stop in to Culver's of Valparaiso on Saturday!

South Shore CVA to host Mommy’s Little Piggy Eating Contest 
On Saturday, Dec. 20, The South Shore Convention and Visitors Authority will host the contest that pays tribute to the holiday classic “A Christmas Story” scene in which Mrs. Parker devises a plan to ensure an uncooperative Randy finishes his supper. Registration begins at 10:00 a.m. Participants are asked to bring canned goods and non-perishable food as the entry fee. All food collected will benefit the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana.

2014 Ends, Life Begins Open House for Worthy Women
