European Market to Celebrate 10th Anniversary

chesterton-european-marketChesterton’s European Market will be attended by a record number of more than 100 merchants, artists, farmers and chefs this Saturday during the Memorial Day weekend. Located at the intersection of Third and Broadway in downtown Chesterton, with additional shopping and fresh food throughout Thomas Centennial Park, the Market takes place from 8am – 2pm.

Hosted by the Chesterton/Duneland Chamber of Commerce, the Market is celebrating its 10th Anniversary this season. “We’re so grateful for the opportunity to host such a special community event each weekend from May through October,” says Heather Ennis, the Chamber’s Executive Director. “We’ve seen record numbers of visitors from Chicago and southern Michigan to the Market this season. We love having the opportunity to talk with these tourists about what Duneland has to offer. Over the course of the season, so many of them visit the Market informational booth to request local shopping, dining, and lodging recommendations, and it’s a pleasure to direct them to our partners in the Chamber.”

This Saturday’s Market will feature a wide variety of fresh food, including fresh squeezed orange juice, croissants, flatbread pizzas, vegan gyros, barbeque ribs, pierogies, boutique cheeses and wines, German tortes, giant cookies and cake truffles. For Memorial Day Weekend, the Market will also have the unique booths of a balloon twister and fairy garden sculptor, as well as live performances by well-known Chicago Blues musician Gerry Hundt.
