Vintage 33 Warehouse Opening Soon!

In the large warehouse that holds Flanagin's Bulk Mail Service, there is another shop about to open. It's called Vintage 33 Warehouse, and it's the brainchild of Erica George.

Erica has always love creating things. She's an artsy person. Painting, drawing, building, pretty much anything she felt like doing, her hands would create unique and beautiful items and objects from the ideas that formed in her brain. She came up with the idea of Vintage 33 Warehouse after she decided that she wanted to sell the items that she made.

"At Flanagin's Bulk mail we would have warehouse days. We'd collect items, sell them, and donate the proceeds to a charity of our choice," Erica said. "In that process I would pick up things that people had thrown out that were perfectly good. I would rebuild them, re-purpose them, clean them up and then sell the items at our warehouse day to make more money for the charities."

She continued to collect miscellaneous items; lamps furniture, broken doors, discarded signs, etc. and she would fix them up. Completely new items were created. Other things just needed a new coat of paint and they were good as new. She realized soon that she could sell her creations.

"In the beginning I would sell at garage sales, and then I tried Facebook," Erica said. "As things progressed I thought that I should go with this because I'm getting older and I don't want to look back with any regrets."

The name Vintage 33 was a product of research and her husband. Erica wanted the perfect name so she went to the thesaurus and dictionary to find the word that described her work. "Vintage" fit the bill. The 33 came from a musing from her husband.

"He said to me one day, 'You should call it Vintage 33 or something,' and I said, 'I like that!' And the number 33 is significant to me. I see that number EVERYWHERE. So I decided to use it. The warehouse came afterward because the store is in a warehouse," Erica said.

Erica credits her mom, Donna, for pushing her to open the store. She will also be selling items at Vintage 33 Warehouse. Erica plans on selling all sorts of things like furniture, antique pieces, lights, signs, wall fixtures, and a lot more!

"I love old things. They totally speak to me for some reason," Erica said. "I have an attachment to items with a history, like they have a story to tell. I often get items that I can make into other pieces. I like to see the potential for what something could be."

Erica plans to let others sell their fun and unique products at her store. She feels that there are many men and women out there who have great ideas and great products and all they need is a place to sell it.

The trial opening For Vintage 33 Warehouse will be on May 15, 16, and 17 from 9am to 5pm. Be sure to come out and take a look at this great new store!
