To Kill a Mocking Bird Auditions at 4th Street Theater

4thstreet-logoThe Fourth Street Theater will hold auditions for its upcoming production of “To Kill a Mockingbird.”

The auditions will be held on March 11 and 12 at 7 p.m. at the Fourth Street Theater, 125 N. Fourth St. in Chesterton. These will be open auditions and the theater will provide sides for cold readings.

Based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Harper Lee and adapted for the stage by Christopher Sergel, “To Kill a Mockingbird” is primarily a play about growing up under extraordinary circumstances in 1935 in The South. The story covers a span of three years, during which the main characters undergo significant changes.

The cast calls for twelve men and eight women, a young girl, her older brother by couple of years and another boy similar in age. Also need several African-American actors for a couple of large parts and several smaller roles. The production will be directed by Kevin Doler.

Performance dates for “To Kill a Mockingbird” are from May 31 through June 16.
