Valparaiso University Department of Theatre to Perform Nicolai Golgol’s “Marriage”

MarriageThe Fall 2013 season of the Valparaiso University Department of Theatre will open on Wednesday, October 2, with the first performance of Nicolai Golgol's comedy, "Marriage".

The play will be performed in the Studio Theatre in the Valparaiso University Center for the Arts. Performances will be October 2, 3, and 4 at 8 pm, and October 5 and 6 at 2 pm.

The play is directed by R. Andrew White, Associate Professor of Theatre, who also translated the play. White commented, "It is a comedy, a farce, really. It is set in 1835 in St. Petersburg, and the action revolves around the central character of Podkolyosin, whose best (and unhappily married) friend, name Kochkaryov, is trying to get him to propose to a prospective bride."
