Many Know the Value of Chicago Street Theatre

Chicago-Street-eric-kelliChicago Street Theatre has been a Valparaiso staple for 60 years. This year, in fact, they will be celebrating their sexagennial season! People from all over the region come to take in a show at the theatre quite often. So how does Chigaco Street keep bringing the arts to the community?

"We have a lot of community support," Kelly Hite, "We also apply for grants and both are helpful in keeping us going."

The financial support and active volunteerism helps the theatre to provide the popular shows as well as programs for adults, teens and kids

"For the kids who haven't taken the athletic route, these are after school programs that help them to make friends, learn new skills, and really express themselves," Eric Brant, Director of Marketing at Chicago Street Theatre, said.

Businesses and community members are able to take part and help Street in many ways. They can buy ads in the playbills for the upcoming season, be a season sponsor, sponsor specific projects and shows, be a dining partner, or volunteer.

The perks of sponsorships are great. Not only do you get your logo put all over the place and mentioned in articles like this one, you also get to be part of neat events that Chicago Street hosts. For example, on August 30 there is a free Season Preview party at the theatre that is open to the public. Bits of each of the 60th Season's shows will be shown to give everyone a taste of what's to come at the theatre. On top of that, complimentary appetizers and other delectable treats will be available from their dining partners that include but are not limited to: Bon Femme Cafe, Don Quijote Restaurante, Martinis, Valley Kitchen, Main an Lincoln, Parkside Urban Bistro, Stacks Bar and Grill, Tommy B's, and Pikk's Tavern.

If you are unable to make it to that party, you can get dinner at one of these great places and a show at Chicago Street. These establishments offer 10% off an entree to patrons who present their Chicago Street tickets or stubs on the day of the show they plan to see. It's great for date night, birthdays, a family night out, girls night, or even guys night!
