Get Ready for Auditions at the Chicago Street Theatre!

As November rolls in, there’s plenty to look forward to, including the November 8th and 11th auditions at Chicago Street Theatre! Their newest auditions are for Sideways Stories from Wayside School, the wacky tale of Wayside, which due to an error on behalf of the builder, was built 30 classrooms tall!

For anyone who read the beloved books by Louis Sachar, Wayside school certainly left memories of the wild and odd adventures of Mrs. Jewls’ class. This stage adaptation is written by John Olive and will be directed by Kari-Anne Innes. With plenty of wacky tales and talented people behind the production, it’s sure to be a fantastic and surprising show!

Characters open for audition include Mrs. Jewls, the teacher of the 30th classroom, Mr. Pickle, the school counselor, Miss Valooosh, a dancer, plenty of students, and more! Adult parts will be played by adults or high school students, while student parts are to be played by actors age 10 and up. The variety in the cast is sure to lend itself well to such an interesting childhood story, and give an opportunity for many to create lasting memories!

While auditions take place in November, rehearsals will begin after the holiday with the show set to open in March! Don’t miss the opportunity to be a part of this wonderful show!

For those interested in acting, but not ready to join a stage production, Chicago Street Theatre is still a great place to get started and find all the resources and inspiration needed to develop. They offer classes for children and teens and provide a safe environment for them to explore their creative side.
