Theatre Northwest Plans Two Public Performances of Children’s Classic ‘Pinocchio’

Production features large cast of Northwest Indiana student performers indiana-university-northwest

Theatre Northwest, the performance company of the Indiana University Northwest Department of Performing Arts, will stage two public performances of the children’s classic “Pinocchio,” at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 10, and Sunday, April 11, in Savannah Auditorium. “Pinocchio” is this year’s Children’s Theatre production at IU Northwest. It is the timeless story of the puppet who yearns to become a real boy, and who experiences a fantastic and perilous journey in search of the Blue Fairy who can make it happen for him. If, that is, Pinocchio can keep his nose from growing by telling only the truth!

This show features a cast of 13 student performers from Northwest Indiana. They are:

  • Alexander Lopez, of Hammond, as Geppeto
  • Alex Hora, of Munster, as Mistress Cherry
  • Holly Lowe Jones, of Gary, as Blue Fairy
  • Jake Tasher, of Crown Point, as Harlequin
  • Arielle Kresich, of Lowell, as Columbine
  • Chrisy Damron, of Portage, as Fire Eater
  • Betsy Wojcinski, of Highland, as The Fox
  • Kristie Ray, of Crown Point, as The Cat
  • Doug Adduci, of Portage, as Candlewick
  • Christina F. Bone, of Valparaiso, as Barker
  • Martin M. Perez, of Hammond, as Coachman
  • Anjelita Cratty, of Chesterton, as Cricket

Most of this year’s Children’s Theatre performances are private showings for area schools. But Theatre Northwest has scheduled two public performances for general audiences.

The Savannah Center is located at the southeast corner of the main campus parking lot at 33rd Avenue and Broadway. Free parking is available in the main campus lot.
