‘The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)’, a parody of plays written by the legendary William Shakespeare, takes center stage this June at Theatre Northwest, the performance company of the Indiana University Northwest Department of Performing Arts.

The curtain for one of the world’s most popular productions will be lifted in Savannah Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, June 25, and Saturday, June 26. The third and final performance will be Sunday, June 27 at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased by contacting the Theatre Northwest box office at (219) 980-6808. Any remaining tickets may be purchased at the box office prior to the event.

The wit of Shakespeare, coupled with contemporary actor improvisation, brings to life abridged versions of classics like “Romeo and Juliet,” “Othello,” “Macbeth,” and “Hamlet”. Pop culture, mentions of local people, places and current events, as well as audience interaction all interweave, making this cultural experience truly unique, entertaining and engaging.

Famous Shakespearian lines, tweaked with modern appeal and notoriety will be boldly delivered by three IU Northwest performers:

Arielle Kresich, of Lowell, as Adam; Martin M. Perez, of Hammond, as Daniel; and Charlie Scanlon, of Lake Station, as Jess.

The Savannah Auditorium is located in the Savannah Center on the southeast corner of the main campus parking lot at 33rd Avenue and Broadway in Gary. Free parking is available in the main campus lot.
