WVLP Radio – Annual Hog Roast

Once again, WVLP Radio presented the Hog Roast at Butterfield Pavilion on May 6th. This annual event was hosted by Mike Garcher and Mac McIntyre, Program Director of the community radio station who said, "This event is what got me involved with WVLP Radio. I've been involved with it ever since, and I love it."

At the first Hog Roast he attended, he was told that he had a voice for radio, and the rest is history. Being a non-profit, community-driven station, the Hog Roast is an integral piece in keeping the station on air.

"We would not exist if it weren't for community support," Mac said.

They served mostaccioli, fried chicken, green beans and desserts as well as providing live musicians to entertain all the guests. Be an advocate next year in supporting your local radio stations that play so much of the music you enjoy.

Mac put it best, "It's good food, it's good music, and you can come out and see the personalities you've heard on the air, and more than anything, it's what keeps us on the air."
