The City Lights Band to Perform “Sounds of Summer” Concert Series

City-Lights-BandPorter Parks Department continues their Sounds of Summer Concert Series with The City Lights Band and Duneland Ballroom Dance studio on Wednesday, July 11th.

The City Lights Band offers the very best in live music entertainment. The musicians formed The City Lights Band in 2009 after performing the musical, "Swing" and most recently the Broadway musical "Chicago" on stage at the Memorial Opera House. Since their inception, The City Lights Band has performed at venues and special events throughout the region.

The City Lights Band features two Chesterton residents, Marc Jackett (Drums) and Michele Gustin-Craig (Female Vocalist). Other Members include: Ed Fouts (Saxophone)-Valparaiso, Bill Jenkins (Guitar)-Michigan City, Jeff Otto (Piano/Vocals)-Schererville, and Chris Holmquest (Bass), Munster.

The “Sounds of Summer” concert series is a free event Presented by the Porter Parks Department, with “Bud’s Buddies”. Group dance lessons will be offered from 6:00-6:45 pm in the gazebo and The City Lights Band will kick off the concert at 7:00 pm.

Families are encouraged to bring a picnic, blankets and lawn chairs. Food vendors will also be available.

The concert will take place at the East Shelter of Hawthorn Park in Porter, Indiana.

**In the event of inclement weather, dance lessons and concerts will be held indoors at the Community Building.
