Shades of Gray Benefit Concert in Support of Neighbors Place, a Residence for Women

ShadesofgrayOn Sunday, March 16th, local folk music group Shades of Gray will offer a benefit concert at 3:00 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church to help raise funds for Neighbors Place, a Residence for Women.

The former HealthLinc Building on the corner of Union and College Streets in Valparaiso has been purchased by Project Neighbors, a local not-for-profit, and is being remodeled to create eighteen efficiency apartments for single women living on Social Security, disability income or working low wage jobs.

With the help of the Porter County Community Foundation, Project Neighbors needs to raise $450,000 to guarantee affordability of the eighteen units. Naming rights for each of the eighteen units are being sold for $25,000.

The concert is free but a free will offering will be accepted. All proceeds will go to the cost of Neighbors Place.

The effort to create Neighbors Place is a community wide project. The partners include:

  • Centier Bank
  • 1st Source Bank
