The United Way of Porter County’s Power of Youth Council hosted their first ever county-wide Battle of the Bands: Battle Against Drugs and it was a huge success. The council raised $2,532.00 in ticket sales that will be granted to nonprofits in Porter County with programs that address teen substance abuse prevention and early treatment.
The winners are as follows: 1st place and recipient of a recording session at Willowtree Recording Studio is “The Luke Situation” from Chesterton High School; 2nd place is “Vultress” from Portage High School and 3rd place is “ISTANDBROKEN" from Valparaiso High School.
The event brought in more than 500 teens and adults from all around NWI and even as far as Indianapolis.
