Cello, Vocal, and Piano Music to Entertain and Inspire
Program Description: The wait is over! Former Valparaiso native Michael Linert returns after nearly five years to present his new program of cello, vocal and piano music united with themes of exploring, dreaming, and discovering. A program for all ages to entertain and inspire!

Biography: Growing up in Valparaiso, IN, Michael Linert graduated from both Immanuel Lutheran School and Valparaiso High School. He has now performed professionally for more than ten years, most frequently as a cellist, singer, and pianist, and he has received instruction from many of the world's leading professionals, including professors from The Juilliard School, Ball State University, and The Hartt School.
As a cellist, he has received many awards and scholarships, has held the principal chair position of several orchestras, and has appeared in numerous chamber and solo recitals throughout the U.S.
As a singer, he performs regularly with CONCORA, Connecticut's premier professional choir, with whom he appeared as alto soloist with the Hartford Symphony last season. He has also performed several solo recitals and roles in opera, oratorio and musical theater.
Recently, Michael co-founded Entwined, a performance-practice ensemble performing music mostly from the 1600-1750's.
Michael performs on cellos created Jon Van Kouwenhoven, a master artist-luthier residing currently in Hartford, CT whose instruments have been played by many internationally-renowned musicians including Mstislav Rostropovich, David Geringas, Gidon Kremer, Kim Kashkashian, and Yuri Bashmet.
