Portage TOWNSHIP SummerFest Packed Full of Renowned Entertainers
The Portage TOWNSHIP Department of Parks and Recreation’s 1st Annual Portage Township SummerFest has filled the stage for two whole days with nationally and regionally renowned main stage entertainment! Main Stage Entertainment runs from noon-11pm on Saturday & Sunday with sensational entertainment. From country to rock to blues and in-between, there’s something for everyone on the main stage! A second family stage will also boast the best of local family fun entertainment and music. Other festival features include; kids’ games, inflatable rides, vendor booths, beer garden & more!

Concert to Celebrate the Birthday of Noted American Composer John Williams
The Summer Rhapsody Music Festival kicks off Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 8 pm. A series of 10 concerts will take place throughout the summer, with the inaugural performance featuring the works of John Williams, a composer noted for his popular film scores. The concert will honor the composer's 80th birthday, along with several other cities throughout the world. The musical line up includes pieces from Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Harry Potter, Superman, Jaws, and more.

Crossroads Regional Chamber of Commerce: Hometown Festival Days
Hometown Festival Days bring over 10,000 people to downtown Crown Point, Indiana in June. This year’s 2012 Hometown Festival days will be bigger and better than ever! Festival Days kick-off on Friday, June 15th and Saturday, June 16th with The Corn Roast. The popular band, Mr. Funnyman, will take the stage on Friday evening. On Saturday night another local favorite, The Retropolitans, will perform. A large children’s play area, plenty of delicious food and beverages, and the famous Shriner’s corn make this a family friendly party you will not want to miss!

Celebrate Dairy Month at Culvers!
All day long on June 16 and 17, 2012, we will be hosting a fundraiser in honor of our local Dairy Farmers and 4-H club. We hope you will stop by and share in our appreciation of all that they do! Real dairy cows will be at the Culver's locations from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. Free frozen custard and cheese curd samples will be offered all day long. There will also be coloring pages and balloons for the kids!

Washington Stage Theatre Presents Independent One Act Plays
The WASHINGTON STAGE THEATRE, 111 Roosevelt St. in La Porte will present two independent one act plays "The Ninja Flute," and "The Script's the Thing." "The Ninja Flute" is a tale of intrigue about a stolen ancient artifact, and the attempt of a female private eye to secure it for posterity. "The Script's the Thing" is a fantasy-comedy about a playwright in a small mid-western town, and his characters, who sometimes come to life on his stage.

Bosak Auto Group Teaming Up with Tough Mudder to Raise Funds for Wounded Warriors
The Bosak Auto Group is helping the Wounded Warror Project with its team in the upcoming Tough Mudders race taking place Saturday June 16 and Sunday, June 17. Tough Mudder is a grueling 10-12 mile obstacle course designed by British Special Forces. This isn’t your typical run! Fences, fire, water, ice, and mud await our team as they battle through the course. Tough Mudder is a proud supporter of the Wounded Warrior Project. To date, Tough Mudder participants have raised approximately $3 million to support thousands of warriors returning from the battlefield.

Junior Golf Activities at Creekside for All Skill Levels
The Valpo Parks Department has instructional opportunities for juniors of all skill levels. Classes include Masters Academy, Target Academy, Lil' Tiger Classes, Linkster Classes, the LPGA Girls Golf Club, Junior Play Programs, and Team League.

PNC American Sign Language Club Coffeehouse
The Purdue University North Central American Sign Language Club will host an ASL Coffeehouse on Friday, June 15. The event is open to ASL students as well as community members and children are welcome to attend with a parent or adult. This is a pleasant, casual event for all to enjoy through participation or as an observer.

Valparaiso 1st UMC Rummage Sale
The United Methodist Women Susannah Circle of Valparaiso First United Methodist Church is hosting a community Rummage Sale on June 16th, 2012, from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. The sale will be held in 3 parking lots surrounding the church campus on the corners of Franklin and Chicago St. in downtown Valparaiso. Plan now to stop and shop!

Portage Historical Society Rummage Sale
Portage Historical Society is having a fundraiser rummage sale at Countryside Park 5250 E. U.S. Hwy. 6 Portage, In. June 16th from 8:oo a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Plenty of free parking.
