Porter Health Care System to Present Healthy Hustle 5K
Porter Health Care System will present the Healthy Hustle 5K Run/Walk at 8 am, Saturday, July 28 at its new Porter Regional Hospital. The event will benefit both the Porter County Cancer Society and Lakeshore Paws. The Healthy Hustle’s unique course is partial cross country and partial pavement around the new Porter Regional Hospital campus.

McAfee to Host Open House Event
Join McAfee Animal Hospital for a special open house on Saturday, July 28, 2012, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Tour the hospital and have fun with these other events happening throughout the day, including exotic animals from Washington Park Zoo, door prizes and raffles, police dog demos, and more!

Last Chance to Experience the Best of Summer!
The Porter County Fair will end its 10 day run July 28. Come out this weekend for the best in fair food, rides and entertainment! Grandstand entertainment this weekend features the Figure "8" Demo Derby!

Hog Roast to Again Benefit Local Radio Station
Local radio station WVLP will host their Annual Hog Roast on Friday, July 27, 2012, at the Butterfield Pavilion. This year's roast will be catered by Strongbow. The menu features roasted pork, a vegetarian cuisine, chicken, various sides, and great desserts! All proceeds go to your non-profit, all-volunteer community radio station.

Lemonade Contest to Benefit Prevention of Child Abuse
Prevent Child Abuse Porter County, PCAPC, will be hosting a Best Tasting Lemonade and Lemonade Stand Contest on Saturday, July 28. PCAPC is a volunteer council dedicated to educating individuals throughout Porter County as to the nature and causes of child abuse and to provide information concerning prevention strategies. The contest will be judged by celebrity judges.

Summer Rhapsody Music Festival Continues
The 10 concert series continues this Sunday, with the Suzuki Conservatory performing at Valparaiso's Central Park Plaza at 6:30 pm. Attendees are encouraged to bring picnics and outside food as they enjoy the concert. Admission is free.

Strikeout Bullying - Railcats Partner with PATH
A Positive Approach to Teen Health is partnering with the Gary South Shore RailCats at their July 28, 2012 game at 6:10 pm. For every ticket that PATH sells for this game, a percentage is donated back to our organization. Tickets are $10 each. The evening will have an anti-bullying focus, "Strike Out Bullying", with some of our fellow youth organizations participating.

Matt's Yellow Balloon Race
MYBR is a 5k race/1 mile walk and benefit concert that will be taking place on July 28 in Valparaiso, Indiana. In the morning at 9 AM, the 5k race/1 mile walk will be taking place at Immanuel Lutheran Church. The race course features a flat as well as fast course around the surrounding neighborhoods of Immanuel. In the evening, the benefit concert will be taking place at Central Park Plaza downtown Valparaiso from 5 PM until 10 PM.

2nd Annual Viking Quarterback Club Golf Outing
Register today for the 2012 Viking Quarterback Club Golf Outing, taking place on Sunday, July 29, 2012 at Forest Park Golf Course. Support the “New Era, Same Tradition” of Viking football, with lunch, dinner, prizes, awards, and plenty more at the golf course, all while raising money to support the program.

Friends of Scouting Motorcycle Ride
Join us on a scavenger hunt through Lake and Porter Counties. This is a family friendly event. Don’t have a bike? Can’t get ahold of a Bike? Can’t make the ride? You can still attend the event! The First 100 to pre-register will receive a free t-shirt!
