Enter through the gates of U. S. Steel Yard under an arch of balloons. Take a pretty picture with you and your date and enjoy a slow dance under the stars. "Prom Night" at the ballpark will allow every fan to re-live their prom experience. Any fan dressed in prom attire will receive a $2 discount on their tickets.

VHS Class of 2013 Graduation The students in the Video Production Class at the Porter County Career Center are producing video of the 2013 VHS Commencement on the Viking Field's video board, streaming the video LIVE on ValpoLife, and selling DVD copies for $25.

An Exhibition About Anything and Everything Unrealistic The Southern Shore Art Association is presenting an exhibition about anything and everything that alters reality in any way. We are challenging member and guest artists to loosen up, let go, break the rules. Work in all media will be shown and could be abstract, expressionist, surrealistic, cubistic or reality presented in other, unexpected ways.

First Fit Friday Highlights Youth Fit This Friday, June 7, Central Park will begin hosting “Porter Regional Hospital Fit Fridays.” Fit Fridays are interactive lunchtime events that will showcase different types of fitness options. This first Fit Friday features Youth Fit by trained instructors from Integrated Movement and is geared for kids age 6 and up. Some of the Youth Fit activities include obstacle course races, balance training, and team relay races.

Dunes Learning Center's education staff will lead themed hikes throughout the day, including one to the Little Calumet River. Northwest Indiana Paddling Association members will introduce kids to kayaking and demonstrate skills and safety. Live music, food and even a weather balloon launch are planned.

Paws for a Cause It's time again for Vale Park Animal Hospital's fundraising pet nail trims! The money raised from the nail trims benefits the Valparaiso Police K-9 Unit! The cost is $7 for a trim or $10 for dremmel. No appointment is necessary!

The Faces of Lincoln Coming to Portage The Indiana Historical Society’s traveling exhibition The Faces of Lincoln, as seen in 2004 and 2005 aboard the Indiana History Train, will open June 8 and 9th at the Alton Goin Museum. The Faces of Lincoln explores the image of Abraham Lincoln in three distinct sections: “Developing the Image,” “Creating the Image” and “Idealizing the Image.”

Anthony Gomes Bringing Acoustic Blues to One Night Jam Chicago Street Theatre's acclaimed "One Night Jam" concert series is bringing one of the hottest blues artists in the country, Anthony Gomes, to their intimate stage for a rare solo acoustic blues jam on Sunday, June 9 at 7 p.m. Gomes, a native of Canada now residing near St. Louis, is one of the most popular artists in the contemporary blues world.

Shakespeare Returns to IFG A Midsummer Night’s Dream will be performed on June 9th at 2:30pm The rollicking tale of forest creatures who control and manipulate several young lovers is one of Shakespeare’s most beloved plays. Performing this adaptation of the play will be the entertaining and magical Metamorphosis Traveling Theater Company.
