Come experience the best days of summer at the Portage Township SummerFest! June 13th through the 16th, Haven Hollow Park will be filled with fun, each day featuring live music, a carnival, food, a petting zoo, water wars, bounce houses, and more!
Celebrate National Dairy Month
Why not come to Culver's of Valparaiso and Schererville to celebrate with us! All day long on June 15th and 16th, we will be hosting a fundraiser in honor of our local Dairy Farmers and 4-H club. We hope you will stop by and share in our appreciation of all that they do!
Announcing the Southern Shore Music Festival
The Michigan City Summer Festival is bringing a brand new event to the region with the Southern Shore Music Festival. The event will take place on June 15th at the Guy Foreman Amphitheater in Michigan City and fill an entire day with music starting at 12pm. We'll be gathering an eclectic group of musicians for our inaugural year with genres spanning bluegrass, rock, hip-hop, and electro-funk.
Rummage the Barn This Week at Fundraising Sale
The Portage Community Historical Society is holding a Barn Rummage Sale on Thursday, June 13 and Friday, June 14, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. This is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the historical society. Admission is free for browsing and parking is free.
Church to Host Outdoor Father's Day Event
Calvary Church is celebrating Father’s Day in Central Park in Valparaiso on June 16. The event begins at 10:45 a.m. and features contemporary worship artists, Sevenglory, and author and Calvary pastor, F. Lionel Young. The community is invited to attend. A classic car exhibition will be open until 2pm, and food vendors will be on hand selling lunch and snack items.
La Porte Day at the Cove for Father’s Day
The Greater LaPorte Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring “La Porte Day at the Cove", on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 16, 2013 at Stanley Coveleski Stadium in South Bend, Indiana. Mayor Blair Milo will be throwing the first pitch of the game in honor of La Porte Day. The first 500 dads will receive a free Father’s Day gift.

A 5K Run/Walk will be held June 22 at 7:30 am, registration at 6:30 am. The run will begin at Heartland Christian Center, 170 S State Road 49. Funds raised support our missions and relief agencies in Porter County and surrounding areas. The course features some grass and gravel, but mostly road.
2013 Valparaiso Jr. Triathlon
Calling all young athletes! Are you looking or a challenge? Then get yourself signed up for the 2013 Valparaiso Junior Triathlon. It's hosted by the Valparaiso Swim Club and will take place in VHS at 9am on June 15, 2013.

"To Kill A Mockingbird" culminates this weekend at the Fourth Street Theater. Based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Harper Lee and adapted for the stage by Christopher Sergel, “To Kill a Mockingbird” is primarily a play about growing up under extraordinary circumstances in 1935 in The South.
Forest Park Golf Course Hosting Annual Father's Day Tournament
Forest Park Golf Course will host its annual Father's Day Tournament on Sunday, June 16. Tee times are available from 6 a.m. until noon. The format will be an 18 Hole 2-player scramble.
