Each weekend we bring you 10 Fun Things to Do in Northwest Indiana so you are never without something to do! This weekend features plenty of Easter celebrations, fundraisers, theater productions, community clean-ups, a concert, Earth Day events and more!

Jim Hewitt Good Friday Bowl 
10 years ago, the Jim Hewitt Good Friday Bowl fundraiser was started. This event is fun for the entire family and it's for a good cause. This year the event takes place on April 18, 2014. We kindly ask that you all could be generous enough to give a monetary donation to this cause. Funds generated go to help benefit the Hospice of Calumet and the American Brain Tumor Association

City of Whiting Kids Easter Party 
upcoming events this month. As we approach the Easter holiday and the weather we’ve all been waiting for, spend the month of April in the City of Whiting by attending fun-filled events for the whole family.

La Porte Jaycees Easter Egg Hunt
The Easter Egg Hunt will start exactly at 9:00 a.m. for the youngest age group. Children will be grouped by ages 0-3, 4-6, 7-9, and 10-12. Please arrive early to purchase tickets for raffle baskets and meet the Easter Bunny!

Culver's Easter Eggs-Travaganza 
Come to Culver's of Valparaiso on April 19, 2014 to take part in our Easter Egg-Stravaganza! It's going to be eggs-cellent, eggs-citing, and eggs-straordinary! From 11am to 6pm you can hang out with the Easter Bunny and from 3pm to 4pm kids ages 10 and under can join Scoopie for and Easter egg hunt!

Celebrate Easter with City Point Church Helicopter Candy Drop 
City Point Church is going all out this Easter weekend. We are going to be having a Helicopter Candy Drop at Woodland Park in Portage on Saturday April 19th at Noon. There will be fun, games, raffles, candy, candy, candy and a Helicopter dropping even more candy! Everyone is welcome and this is a great event for families.

International Friendship Gardens Clean-Up 
Calling all gardeners who are interested in helping the Gardens grow! If you are a first timer or an advanced master gardener, IFG welcomes you to help us keep IFG growing strong and healthy. If you would like to sponsor & care for a garden, please come to this start-up meeting.

Earth Day Celebration Offers Free Day of Fun, Live Animal Shows, Birdhouse Building and More
 The Recycling and Waste Reduction District of Porter County invites residents from Lake, Porter and LaPorte Counties and beyond to become inspired, educated and entertained at the ninth annual Northwest Indiana Earth Day Celebration. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 19, at the Porter County Expo Center, 215 E. Division Rd., Valparaiso.

Play it Again, Sam at Chicago Street Theater 
Directed by Jason Utesch, Play It Again, Sam tells the story of a recently divorced screenwriter Allan Felix; whose fear of returning to the world of dating and love for the movie Casablanca; lead him to create an imaginary life coach out his screen idol Humphrey Bogart.

Blue Chip Casino Oak Ridge Boys 
Country and gospel music legends and Grammy Award winners The Oak Ridge Boys perform in the Stardust Event Center at Blue Chip Casino, Hotel & Spa, Michigan City, Indiana on Saturday, April 19 at 8 pm. Tickets are on sale starting March 15 for $60, $45 and $35 and can be purchased by credit card at Ticketmaster.com or in person at The Gift Box in the Blue Chip Casino pavilion. Guests must be 21 or older, with a valid state or government issued photo ID.

Avon Walk for Breast Cancer 2014 
The fundraiser will be held this Saturday April 19th from 10am-3pm at M2 Dance Center in Schererville. We will be holding a basket raffle with over 30 donated baskets. We will also have a beauty station for basic manicures, putting in pink hair extensions, and pink ribbon face painting. There will be a bake sale with most of the goods having an Easter theme to them for the holiday. There will also be a Lia Sofia representative their to sell jewelry, a photo booth, custom dance apparel with the slogan "M2 Dancers Against Cancer," snacks, and complimentary drinks.
