2015 Maple City Grand Prix
The Maple City Grand Prix is coming to La Porte the weekend of May 29th to May 31st and Downtown La Porte is hosting the race teams and their boats with a boat parade and block party. Friday, May 29th over 40 race boats and race teams will parade east down Lincolnway starting at Teegarden Street. The Downtown Block Party takes place from 6:00 – 10:00 pm in the Herald Argus Parking lot at State and Monroe Streets.

South Haven Fire Dept Fire Fest
The South Haven Fire Department will be hosting it's annual Fire Festival on May 29 3pm-12am. There will be food and craft vendors, Beer Garden, Kid's Tent with Bounce Houses, and Fire Truck Demos. 

La Porte County Public Library Viewing of Classic 80’s Ghostbusters
The La Porte County Public Library is gearing up to host a fun, interactive showing of the movie Ghostbusters on Friday, May 29 at 7:00 p.m. at the main library. Come dressed as your favorite classic 80’s character and get ready to experience the movie in a whole new way. We will be live tweeting the event with commentary and Ghostbusters trivia using #mylplibraryghostbusters. The audience will also get an interactive script to go along with the movie. This, in no way, is your ordinary Friday night at the movies. There will be surprise guest appearances throughout the evening, as well. 

Craig Ferguson, Live at the Star Plaza!
Craig Ferguson will be performing at the Star Plaza Theatre in Merrillville on May 29, 2015 as part of his Hot and Grumpy: Walking the Earth Tour. The show beings at 8pm and tickets from the March 18 show that was rescheduled will be honored. 

Tour de Highland
Take part in the Tour de Highland, a family-friendly picnic and bicycle ride through Highland. We'll ride rain or shine!

Wildlife and Nature Awareness Day at Taltree Arboretum & Gardens
Taltree Arboretum & Gardens and Moraine Ridge Wildlife Rehab Center are hosting a Wildlife and Nature Awareness Day on Saturday, May 30, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

Free Guided Walks At Local Nature Preserves
Shirley Heinze Land Trust invites the public to attend free guided nature walks at Ambler Flatwoods and Barker Woods Nature Preserves in Michigan City on Saturday, May, 30. The walks are part of a series of events planned to increase awareness of the group's first-ever Capital Campaign, themed Take a Walk with Shirley. 

Spring Charity Wine, Beer, and Spirits Tasting
Join Trail Inn and Triangle Liquors as they host their 8th annual spring charity wine, beer, and spirits tasting. Held at Old Town Banquet Center in Valparaiso from 6:00-9:30pm, you will have the opportunity to sample 200 different products! Must be 21 and over to attend, tickets are available for purchase at Trail Inn and Triangle Liquors. All proceeds go to St. James Charities for Children in Porter County. 

Movies at the Portage 16 IMAX
