Festival of the Lakes
There's more than a feeling that the Festival of the Lakes at Wolf Lake Memorial Park in Hammond, July 15-19, is going to be the biggest and best ever. 

Michigan City Soul Steppers Show Up and Show Out
The Soul Steppers Drill Team Inc. in conjunction with the Michigan City Summer Festival will be hosting a Drill Team/Drumline competition at Michigan City High School School. The theme is "Show Up & Show Out", and this will be the largest competition of its kind to be held in the state of Indiana! There will be between 10-15 drill teams accompanied by drumlines competing for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophies and cash awards, with a special performance by Michigan City's own award winning Soul Steppers Drill Team.

Culver’s Superhero and Princess Night Valpo
Culver’s Superhero and Princess Night Schererville
Culver's of Valparaiso and Schererville are offering special deals for Superheros and Princesses. There will be fun games and activities for the kids, and Scoopie will be making an appearance! The Valpo event will be on Saturday, July 18th, 2015 and Schererville's will be hosted on Sunday July 19, 2015. 

Christ Presbyterian Church 2nd Annual Car Show 
The car show was a huge success last year and will be even better this year with a live music by the Stone Rollers. Proceeds to benefit Riley’s Children’s Hospital and Christ Presbyterian Church. 

Annual PoCo Muse Block Party
Join friends and neighbors on the front lawn of the PoCo Muse for a cookout from 12-4p on Saturday, July 18, 2015. 

Hamlet
Considered by many to be the “Greatest Play in the English Language,” Hamlet tells a story of mystery, murder, and madness as the Prince of Denmark must avenge his father’s death and unlock the dark conspiracy that leads him to members of his own family. 

Portage Summer Market
The 2015 Portage Community Market will be held at Founders Square every Sunday from June 14th through September 6th from 10am to 3pm, Rain or Shine! 

“Love’s Labor’s Lost” at Taltree
The Notre Dame Shakespeare Festival Young Company will present Shakespeare’s “Love’s Labor’s Lost” on Sunday, July 19, at Taltree Arboretum & Gardens. Audience members will have the unique opportunity to enjoy one of Shakespeare’s most beloved comedies in an outdoor theater. 

Portage IMAX Movies
Come see a movie this weekend! Why not? There are great shows like Ant Man, Jurassic World, Inside Out, and Max! 

Barker Mansion Tours
The Barker Mansion is located at 631 Washington Street in Michigan City, IN. The 38-room mansion was built by freight car industrialist and philanthropist John H. Barker in 1905. Guided tours of the mansion are offered Monday through Friday at 10 am, 11:30 am, and 1 pm. Additionally, tours are offered on Saturdays and Sundays at 12 pm and 2 pm beginning in June. Cost for a tour is $5 per adult and $2 per child. Reservations are not necessary for regular tours.
