2016 Gary International Black Film Festival 
The Urban League is once again collaborating with Gary International Black Film Festival organizers to present a weekend of movingly profound films. Filmgoers will not want to miss this important cultural event that will feature film entries from the United States, the United Kingdom, Africa and Jamaica. The festival will feature 3 days of power-packed dramas, insightful documentaries, delightful shorts, quirky youth films and so much more.

Chicago Street Theatre Presents: Night of the Living Dead 
They're coming to get you Barbara...." On Friday, October 14, 2016 Chicago Street Theatre will thrill audiences with a live stage version of the cult horror classic: Night of the Living Dead. Based on the original 1968 film by George Romero and John Russo, the play by Lori Allen Ohm tells the story of a group of disparate individuals trying to survive when a space mishap causes the reanimation of the dead.

Halloween Trail Walk 
We at the Portage Township YMCA would like to invite you and your business to be a part of our 4th annual Trick-or-Treat Trail Walk! What is the Trick-or-Treat Trail Walk you ask? It’s an event where local businesses come together in a fun family-friendly environment to bring smiles and joy to the children of Portage by handing out candy.

2016 Highland Festival of the Trail 
Highland Main Street will be hosting the 2016 Highland Festival of the Trail on Saturday, October 15th in downtown Highland. The annual festival, which celebrates the arts and fitness, is held to increase bicycle and foot traffic along Highland’s bike trail, into downtown.

Portage YMCA Brewfest 
Tickets are on sale for the 3rd annual Portage Brewfest on Saturday, October 15th from 1:00 – 4:00 PM indoors at Woodland Park’s Oakwood Hall. Guests can sample over 55 craft beers and everyday wines, listen to music by Chad Clifford from the Crawpuppies and Front Porch Music, buy food from the trucks,and bid on silent auction items showcasing autographed sports memorabilia. All event proceeds benefit the Portage Township YMCA’s Annual Campaign

Friendship Botanic Gardens Okto-beer-fest 
On Sunday October 16th, over 15 of the best microbreweries from across the Midwest are coming to Friendship Botanic Gardens for Okto-BEER-Fest. Sample a dazzling variety of original craft brews while rocking out to live performances from The Crawpuppies and Matt Gabriel. Also featuring wood-fired pizza from South Shore Oven Works, legendary burgers from Redamak’s, and organic cuisine from The Green Machine.

St. John Chamber of Commerce Beer & Wine Tasting 
Please join the St John Chamber of Commerce as we host our first annual Super Social Sunday Fun Day Bears Tailgate Beer and Wine Tasting Party.

Valpo Parks Kid’s Closet
