United Way of La Porte County Annual Gala The United Way of La Porte County's Annual Gala is this weekend at the Blue Chip Casino! This year the UWLPC will pay tribute to the 1950's USO on Veteran's Day, with plenty of fun fundraising ahead!

South Shore Orchestra Veterans Concert   oin Maestro Troy Webdell and South Shore Orchestra for this Star-Spangled Celebration of America's Veterans. Featuring inspiring patriotic selections as well as music from Victory at Sea by Richard Rodgers and Michael Schelle's RESILIENCE, a double concerto for viola and cello performed by violist Zoie Hightower and cellist Josh DeVries. RESILIENCE was commissioned for the 70th Anniversary of the End of World War II in 2015. Don't miss this special event honoring all those who served our country to Let Freedom Ring!

Kandy Kane Lane Craft/Vendor Show  First Presbyterian Church of Portage is having their annual Kandy Kane Lane Craft/Vendor show on Saturday, Nov. 12, 2016 from 9 am-2 pm. There will also be a bake sale. Stop by to do some holiday shopping. Building completely handicapped accessible. Proceeds to the ministry of the church. Further info: 219-759-1548

Porter EMS Turkey Bowl  Anyone who likes to play football, hang out with friends, or cheer on some competition is welcome. Porter EMS, in full sportsmanship fashion, is also challenging their fellow first-responders county-wide to form teams and participate. All proceeds benefit 500 Turkeys, Inc., a local ministry committed to providing more than 1,000 meals at Thanksgiving.

Hammond 3rd Annual Veteran Appreciation Day Parade  The City of Hammond celebrates its 3rd annual Veteran Appreciation Day parade on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 10 a.m. in Hammond’s 5th and 6th districts. The parade route travels from Olcott Avenue, down 173rd street and ends at the Hessville Park Veteran Memorial.

2016 LaPour Brew & Wine Fest   Make sure to purchase your tickets soon for this year's La Pour Brew & Wine Fest. The 2nd Annual La Pour will be held at the La Porte Civic Auditorium. We have great food being offered from Sacred Heart Country Kitchen and Kraus Haus Pretzels. Live music from George & Nate from Midwest Hype....and some great breweries and wineries!

Valpo Parks Party in the Park   “Fire & Ice” is the theme for the Valpo Parks Foundation’s VIP Night at Central Park Plaza ice skating rink. Come skate for a good cause on Saturday, November 12 from 5:00-8:00 PM under the William E Urschel Pavilion. The event will take place before skating season officially opens. Guests will also enjoy ice sculptor demonstrations as they arrive, followed by acappella musical entertainment, and a fire sticks drummer.

PTLEA Presents Duo del Sol   Duo del Sol will electrify the stage on Saturday, November 12, at 7:00 p.m., at Portage High School "WEST" Auditorium. This is the third concert in a four-part series of live music concerts held in Portage for the Fall 2016-Spring 2017 concert season, presented by Portage Township Live Entertainment Association (PTLEA), now in its 27th season of bringing quality live entertainment to Portage Township. Admission is FREE to students and only $15.00 (or season ticket) at the door for adults!

Duneland YMCA Dancing Like the Stars  Dancing Like the Stars 2016 is going to BETTER THAN EVER! We have out grown our venue. This is a great problem to have. Double check the date as this has changed too! This year we will have more tables, better seating, Jumbo-trons AND an elevated stage for all to see! We are very excited to announce that our annual event will be held at Blue Chip Casino in Michigan City this year.
