Methodist Hospitals held a groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday to celebrate the beginning of work on their Northlake Campus in Gary. The celebration honored the implementation of three areas on the campus: renovation of their Emergency Department and services, expansion of a dedicated Intensive Care Unit and a Medical ICU on the second floor of the hospital.

After 18 months of planning and hard work, the new emergency department is scheduled to open in just a few weeks. The good folks at Franciscan threw a pre-opening sneak peek event this weekend, open to the public, and we were invited to visit.
