Celebrity Chef Serves to Inspire Arthritis Patients

Seamus-Mullen-ArthritisBesides his renowned Spanish cuisine dishes, Seamus Mullen, who has gained acclaim as one of the nation’s leading chefs, dished up encouragement for about 60 audience members and fellow rheumatoid arthritis sufferers during a program August 26 at Franciscan Medical Specialists’ Munster location.

His demonstration served to inspire those living with the affliction “to command life by starting in the kitchen.” The program, sponsored by Pfizer and in partnership with the Franciscan Alliance’s Spirit of Women initiative, discussed the challenges of living with the condition and explained available clinical tests and disease management programs.

Board-certified rheumatologist Keith Reich, D.O., of Franciscan Medical Specialists, addressed effective physician-patient conversations and how to rethink the possibilities for living with the condition.
