Franciscan Alliance Strides to Raise Money for Diabetes Research

Diabetes-Research-Walk-2013Franciscan Alliance Northern Indiana Region representatives again were among participants in the annual Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation’s Walk to Cure Diabetes, which took place Sept. 29 at Hidden Lake Park in Merrillville. The nearly 20-person contingent raised close to $4,000 in the effort to raise research funds to benefit the millions of Americans affected by type 1 diabetes.

Besides securing pledges, bracelets were made and sold by the Franciscan alliance team, some of whose members or their families are diabetics.

Since 1992, the walk has raised more than $1 billion nationwide for research. Franciscan Alliance has walked the walk for more than a decade.
