Parents2Partners – Breaking The Silence

Breaking-the-SilenceParents and community members unite on December 3, 2013 in BREAKING THE SILENCE about substance abuse and addiction issues. This event which will be held at the Porter County EXPO Center from 5:30 – 9:00 p.m. is co-sponsored by A Positive Approach to Teen Health, EMPOWER Porter County, Worthy Recovery, and Women in Bloom.

The purpose is to unite and empower parents, to give them the tools to impact their children in a positive and healthy way, and to break the silence in their homes, schools and communities. Parents and teens impacted by substance abuse will be presenting their personal stories and will be facilitating meaningful discussion on how to initiate and sustain open conversation with one's child, how to identify early warning signs, and who to turn to in order to get advice and support.

Seating is limited. For more information or to register, go to www.pathblazer.org/p2p or call EMPOWER Porter County at 219.465.0294.
