Alzheimer’s Association to Offer Free Three-Part Series on Living with Alzheimer’s

AlzheimersAssociationThe Greater Indiana Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association will be hosting a free three-part on “Living with Alzheimer’s: For People with Alzheimer’s” on Wednesday, October 12, 2011, as well as October 19 and 26, from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Additionally, there will be a separate three-part series at the same time and location for early-stage caregivers. The program will be held at the Alzheimer’s Association office in Valparaiso, located at 15 N. Franklin.

This program is designed to answer questions after a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease. It will cover information for people with a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia who are in the early stage of the disease. The early-stage program describes the symptoms of the disease, explains the legal, financial and resource planning that needs to be done and explains the various components of a care team and how to successfully work with each component during the early-stage of the disease. There is no fee for either session, but they do require registration by contacting the Greater Indiana Chapter’s 24/7 Helpline at 800-272-3900.
