Alzheimer’s Association Hosting Free Session on the Basics of Alzheimer’s Disease March 28

AlzheimersAssociation“Memory Loss, Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease: The Basics,” a free workshop on Alzheimer’s disease, will be held on Thursday, March 28 from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Crown Point Community Library, located at 122 N. Main Street. There is no fee to attend the session, but registration is requested by contacting the Alzheimer’s Association at 800-272-3900.

This program is designed to provide the basic information that everyone needs to know about memory loss issues and what they mean. Typical aging versus problematic memory changes will be covered as well as descriptions of the various causes of dementia. An overview of how Alzheimer’s affects the brain, causes and risk factors, and information on obtaining a diagnosis will also be discussed.
