12 Free Books for Area Children
HealthLinc (formerly Hilltop House) is partnering with First Book and Cheerios’ Spoonfuls of Stories project - http://booksforkids.firstbook.org/whatbook/
For the second year, HealthLinc has received this honor with the opportunity to distribute children’s books, benefitting boys and girls ages 4 to 8.
Due to HealthLinc’s community-minded contribution, the health center was chosen as the sole Indiana organization to dispense books. HealthLinc has given books to children for many years, believing that early literacy is key for healthy child development and future success. HealthLinc will then relate any touching stories back to Cheerios.
The lucky recipients will be children who attend one of HealthLinc’s facilities. As one of the 2009 Spoonfuls of Stories state representative groups, HealthLinc considers this an immense honor and is looking forward to passing these books onto local children.
HealthLinc is a Federally Qualified Health Center serving Porter, LaPorte, Starke and Jasper counties. HealthLinc provides primary medical, dental and behavioral health services in locations in Valparaiso, Michigan City and Knox.
