Kim Hunt is Franciscan St. Anthony Health Ambassador of the Month for July

kim-huntKim Hunt, a health unit coordinator and certified nursing assistant, is the July Ambassador of the Month for Franciscan St. Anthony Health-Michigan City.

The award has been presented by the hospital’s Social and Recognition Committee since 1988 and recognizes employees who exhibit the mission and values of Franciscan Alliance – compassion for those in need, respect for life and the dignity of mankind, wellness and prevention of illness, restoration to health and acceptance of death as the final step toward wholeness. Recipients also have demonstrated courtesy, the proper attitude and enthusiasm for their work.

Hunt, of Porter, who is married and has six children, has been with the hospital for seven years.

She was nominated by a coworker, who said Hunt, “is always cheerful and willing to help; she displays a positive attitude and is a role model for professionalism and empathy.”

Hunt said she was “extremely surprised, overwhelmed and thankful” to her coworkers.

“I enjoy helping people and the opportunity to be a blessing to others. The 3-South staff is wonderful to work with. St Anthony is a great place to work because she Sisters have the same values as I do,” she added.

When she’s not working, Hunt enjoys cooking, reading, traveling and family time.

In recognition of the honor, Hunt, as are all Ambassador recipients, was honored with a special billboard display for the month, a privileged parking spot, an Ambassador badge holder, a photo on the Ambassador of the Month wall that displays the previous 12 months’ winners, $150 cash and an invitation to the annual Service Awards and Recognition Banquet.
