Battle of the Blood Sugar
On June 17 at 6 p.m., Family Nurse Practitioner Melissa Wilson will discuss why pre-diabetes is on the rise, leading to an increased risk of heart disease, stroke and kidney damage, as well as the importance of healthy blood sugar levels and how to prevent the onset of type 2 diabetes. The presentation will be held in the Community Room at Porter Regional Hospital.

Ventricular Arrhythmias
Ventricular arrhythmias are abnormal heart rhythms that originate in the lower chambers of the heart called the ventricles. These rhythms can occur as a result of damage to the heart muscle from a heart attack or cardiomyopathy – or can occur in patients with hearts that seem structurally normal. To learn more about ventricular arrhythmias, join Cardiac Electrophysiologist Dr. Mark Dixon at 6 p.m. on June 18 to learn how ventricular arrhythmias are diagnosed and when to seek medical treatment. The presentation will be held in the Community Room at Porter Regional Hospital.

What is “Low T”?
It’s been estimated that more than 13 million men suffer from low testosterone (Low T), and most of them don’t even know it. Instead they endure the ever worsening symptoms of fatigue, lowered drive, steady weight gain and loss of mental clarity as if it were an accepted part of aging. Join Urologist Dr. Ashay Kparker to discuss Low T and potential treatment options. The presentation is at 6 p.m. on June 24 in the Community Room at Porter Regional Hospital.
