Porter Regional Hospital Introduces New Diabetes Education Class, April 2014

Porter-New-Hospital-Coming-SoonPorter Regional Hospital’s Diabetes Education Department has developed a new class for diabetes patients entitled Insulin Use and Diabetes Self Management. The two-session class will help prepare patients to safely take insulin and fully work with their physician to individualize their care.

Both sessions will be held at Porter’s Education & Rehabilitation Center at 1401 Calumet Avenue in Valparaiso. The first session will take place at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 6; and the second session, a continuation of the first, will be held a week later at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 13.

A physician order is required for this course. The charge for the two-part course is $108 and insurances and Medicare may pay for this class. Call 219-263-7375 or 219-263-7992 for additional information.
