Workshop Presented on the Prevention and Education of Youth Suicide

family-youth-services-bureau-logoThe Family & Youth Services Bureau presents a Family Life Workshop: Youth Suicide- Prevention and Education

Tuesday, May 21, 6:00 to 7:30 pm, at the Family & Youth Services Bureau, 253 W Lincolnway in Valparaiso.

  • Develop understanding of the problem of youth suicide
  • Gain understanding of risk factors that can lead to suicide
  • Learn about the treatment and prevention of suicidal behavior in adolescents.
  • Increase knowledge of warning signs of youth suicide
  • Educate adults to be better prepared to identify and seek help for young people who may be at risk.

 

Workshop led by Kelly Bishop Bohren, MSW

Kelly Bishop Bohren, MSW, is a Social Worker and Home School Advisor for Fegely Middle School in Portage Township Schools and also a therapist in private practice. Her 17 years of experience with young people includes therapy for in-patient and outpatient environments, direct service and program management with runaway and homeless youth in Portland, Oregon, family mediation for Juvenile Justice Diversion in Multnomah County, Oregon and program development and management for the Youth Service Bureau of St. Joseph County, Indiana.
