Mental Health America of Porter County (MHAPC) offers Tax Credits for Contributions

Mental-Health-America-Porter-CountyDecember 31st is nearly here but there is still time to take advantage of tax credits! Mental Health America of Porter County is pleased to offer Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) tax credits for contributions of $100.00 or more. NAP contributions give donors an opportunity to support emergency assistance to help pay for prescriptions to treat mental illness while receiving tax breaks on their Indiana state income tax liability. This is a win, win opportunity for the donor and MHAPC, states Mary Hodson, executive director. The donor receives 50% of contribution back in tax credits and MHAPC receives 100% of the donation!

Here is how it works
Make a contribution to Mental Health America of Porter County for $100.00 or more.
Tax credits are distributed to donors at 50% of the contribution amount and are subtracted from the donor’s Indiana income tax liability. That means that 50% of your donation is returned to you, while Mental Health America of Porter County benefits from the full donation! On top of that, the full amount of your donation is eligible as a charitable contribution on your federal taxes as well

Mental Health America of Porter County utilizes the funds raised from the NAP Tax Credit program to support our Bridging the Gap, emergency assistance program. This vital program pays for prescriptions to treat mental illness for individuals in financial crisis and unable to pay for their medications. Once the critical need is met, clients are connected with resources to move beyond the crisis and give them the ability to remain treatment compliant.

Please join MHAPC in making a positive impact in the quality of life for fellow community members by donating through the NAP Tax Credit Program.

If you are interested in receiving NAP tax credits for your donation please contact Mary Hodson at 219-462-6267 or email to mmhodson@mhapc.org.
