Mood and anxiety disorders during and after pregnancy are a very real problem for millions of women in the U.S. Porter Regional Hospital is offering a free program to the community with an expert speaker to help navigate the complex questions around this topic.
Join Birdie Gunyon Meyer, RN, MA, CLC, will discuss “Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders” on Sept. 15 at the Porter Regional Hospital Community Room. Three sessions are available: 9-11 a.m., Noon – 1 p.m., 2-4 p.m.
Gunyon is the coordinator of the Perinatal Mood Disorders Program at Indiana University Health in Indianapolis, where she serves as the facilitator for weekly mom-to-mom support groups, teaches an outreach class twice a month, and sees clients for evaluation, education and referral. She also is a childbirth educator and a lactation counselor. Gunyon has been speaking to audiences for more than 25 years and sharing her expert advice about the treatment of pregnancy and postpartum mood and anxiety disorders.
