On February 4th, Rittenhouse Senior Living of Valparaiso hosted a lunch n’ learn about recognizing and coping when its time for change, specifically in dementia. Catherine Cameron, of Community Healthcare System Home Care Division, gave the presentation and answered questions of those who attended.
Hot topics of the lunch n’ learn included recognizing and coping with safety, understanding the signs of change and strategies of how to deal with these situations when caring for someone with dementia. There were about 30 individuals who attended the lunch and the feedback was extremely positive.
