St. Clare Health Clinic ‘Fat Tuesday’ Bake Sale Will Benefit Clients

Franciscan-St-Anthony-Crown-PointSt. Clare Health Clinic will sponsor a “Fat Tuesday” bake sale in the Franciscan St. Anthony Health-Crown Point cafeteria, 1201 S. Main St., from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 4.

Proceeds will be used to purchase diabetic test strips and to otherwise assist with diabetic programs offered clinic clients. St. Clare, since 1996, has provided free primary health care and other assistance to underprivileged Northwest Indiana residents.

The contributions from the bake sale are utilized to support diabetic supplies needed for patients of St. Clare Health Clinic,” said Julie Mallers, clinic nurse practitioner-manager.

Without the generosity of the individuals that support the bake sale, St. Clare would not be able to provide diabetic meters and test strips to patients. It is truly amazing how each year the bakers create more elaborate pastries and we always have a great response from the staff of St. Anthony’s participating in the raffles. It is truly a fun event with for an important cause."

Bakers are needed. Goods can be delivered from 2 to 4 p.m. March 3 to the Doctors Dining Room in the hospital cafeteria.

A variety of items will be available for purchase at the bake sale. There also will be a raffle for prizes.
