Wild Animal Rehabilitation

white-owlWe are very pleased to have been rehabilitating God's wild creatures for the last 50 years. We have taken in many different species of orphaned, injured, or diseased wild animals during these years. Some of these "all creatures great and small" have been rabbits, squirrels, raccoons, opossums, skunks, deer, coyote, foxes, beaver, muskrats, mink, weasles, many different types of songbirds, raptors, and waterfowl. This rehabilitation has been quite rewarding to the staff of McAfee Animal Hospital and it is a joy to be able to release these animals to the wild.

A couple of strong wildlife hints:

ducksmall1) Remember that baby wild animals have a much better chance of survival if you leave them where you found them (many times, mom is waiting around the corner until you leave to come back to her young).

2) Be careful when transporting wild, orphaned, injured, or diseased animals to the clinic – they are wild and will bite.

3) Special rehabilitation licenses are required to raise orphaned or injured wildlife.

We very much appreciate your love of all creatures great and small.
